29 August 2024

Soe, August 29, 2024 – Yayasan Plan International Indonesia (Plan Indonesia) once again sent three girls, Helda (20 years old), Melani (18 years old), and Sefriana (18 years old), from South Central Timor (TTS) to pursue undergraduate education at IPMI Institute Jakarta. This scholarship is the result of collaboration between Plan Indonesia and IPMI Institute, with the aim of providing opportunities for children from the region, especially TTS, to receive education at IPMI Institute (IPMI International Business School). Since 2022, Plan Indonesia has collaborated with IPMI Institute to send one student in 2022, and two students in 2023.

“Of course, I am very happy, excited because I did not expect to get the opportunity and of course very grateful to God. Thank you very much for the trust from Plan Indonesia and IPMI. I will try my best, my best to fight for the next four years,” said Helda (age) who is one of the three children who qualified. Helda was also a member of Plan Indonesia’s Youth Advisory Panel (YAP) a few years earlier at the Soe Program Implementation Area (PIA).

Marina Meidiyanti, PIA Manager in Soe, stated that education for children in TTS is a top priority for Plan Indonesia in Soe. Therefore, Plan Indonesia is very excited about the opportunity given to these children by IPMI Institute (IPMI International Business School).

“The scholarship covers their living and education expenses for four years starting from November 2024. In addition to the scholarship, Plan Indonesia also covers all transportation costs,” he added.

To be selected as scholarship recipients, these three children have passed various selections starting from June starting from file selection, and interviews. So far, Plan Indonesia and IPMI Institute (IPMI International Business School) have managed to send six children from TTS and this is a good opportunity for children to reach their dreams through IPMI Institute (IPMI International Business School).

Mama Dela, the biological mother of Helda’s child said, “Personally as a parent, I am very grateful to God, thank you very much, to Plan Indonesia also for the support for our children, especially Helda and through this institution, our children can develop, can achieve their dreams and be more extraordinary, thank you Plan Indonesia.”

“Helda has joined and studied with Plan Indonesia for three years, since the first grade of high school. During that time, she gained many valuable experiences, became more mature, mingled with the community, and gained a lot of knowledge,” added Mama Dela.
