The Role of Youth
The importance of youth leadership and gender equality cannot be overstated. Youth is the nation’s greatest asset for achieving the vision for 2100. They are known for having unique and innovative perspectives that can significantly contribute to solving national issues. As the generation most connected with technology and media, youth play a crucial role in driving social change, innovation, and sustainable policies.
Empowering youth, including girls and young women, is key to achieving sustainable development and creating a more just and prosperous future for all. The Roadmap 2100 emphasizes the importance of youth leadership in tackling future challenges, particularly in Asia and Africa, where over 50% of the population is under 30 (The Unlock Declaration II). Empowering these young leaders is essential for delivering impactful changes for current and future generations. Through active participation in education, social entrepreneurship, and policy advocacy, the youth can become key drivers in shaping an inclusive and sustainable future
